Date of Trip: Summer 2024
Location: Boracay Island, Aklan, Philippines
✈️ The Start of a Dream Vacation
After months of planning and daydreaming, I finally set foot on Boracay—the Philippines’ island paradise known for its powder-white sands, turquoise waters, and vibrant food scene. I knew it would be beautiful, but the real thing? Even better than the photos.
🌅 Day 1: White Beach + Iconic Shakes
I stayed near Station 2, the most happening part of the island. Just a short walk from my hotel was the famous White Beach, and wow—it looked like a scene straight from a travel brochure. The sand was so soft and the water so clear, I didn’t even wait to change clothes before running in.
Later that afternoon, I grabbed a shake from Jonah’s Fruit Shake. I got the Banana Choco Peanut—a creamy, rich drink that cooled me down after a long travel day. I sipped it while watching the Boracay sunset, and it felt like time stood still.
🏝️ Day 2: Island Hopping and Seafood Madness
Day two was all about adventure! I booked an island-hopping tour that took me to Crystal Cove, Puka Beach, and a snorkeling spot near Crocodile Island. The ocean views? Absolutely unreal.
After a salty day at sea, I headed to D’Talipapa, where you buy fresh seafood at the market and have it cooked in one of the nearby restaurants. I picked out tiger prawns, squid, and crab, and had them grilled and sautéed in garlic butter. It was local, fresh, and unforgettable.
To end the day, I stopped by Nonie’s, a healthy Filipino fusion restaurant. Their Adobo Bowl with organic brown rice and pickled vegetables hit the spot—delicious and guilt-free.
🍔 Day 3: Massages, Chori Burgers & Ube Pancakes
I slowed things down on my third day. After a morning beach massage (₱400 for an hour!), I went for a casual walk along Station 1 and stumbled upon a small food stand selling Boracay’s famous Chori Burger. It’s a sweet and spicy Filipino-style chorizo patty in a soft bun—and yes, it’s as messy and amazing as everyone says.
Later, I treated myself at The Sunny Side Café, known for brunch all day. I ordered their Ube Pancakes with coco cream syrup and a Mango Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Each bite was a perfect mix of sweet, savory, and tropical.
💭 What I Loved About Boracay
Boracay is more than a beach destination—it’s a sensory experience. From the sound of the waves and music in the bars, to the smell of grilled seafood and the taste of icy tropical shakes, everything about this island is alive.
I left with a tan, a happy heart, and a camera roll full of sunsets and food photos.
